Honestly, this is what SW Houston needed, an upscale place that you can go and relax and share a good time with friends.
The ambiance of Tobin's Lounge is exotic. Low lights and dark corners. Subtle colors and artsy, it makes you feel relaxed. The shadow bar changes colors every 30 seconds or so and the bartenders put on a pretty good bottle flipping and tossing show. The Martini menu is excellent, drinks are a little on the weak side, but good nonetheless. Prices are excellent averaging from 8-9 dollars a drink, and beer from 3-5 dollars a bottle. The waitresses are courteous, although I have to say mine was a little over attentive, but it's better than being forgotten about. I was impressed with the management. Tobin (Owner) was at the door, opening and greeting guest as they arrived. The General manager made sure everything inside was in order and went around the lounge greeting and thanking the patrons for visiting.
Tobin's Lounge has an outdoor patio and smoking area, very nicely configured and decorated with couches. Pretty soon it will include it's own bar, so in the summer you can sit outside and relax.
The acoustics inside are good, sounds nice from wherever you are sitting. Having DJ Hollywood from La Mega 101.1 FM mixing made the night even better.
Overall I must say, Tobin's Lounge found a few new patrons.
